New Vegas Reloaded 4.4.0 · Mod Organizer 2 · preset 1.1.0
UngodlyNVR
New Vegas Reloaded 4.4.0, unmodified, with a preset that reads the shaders rather than guessing at them. Cascaded shadow maps, blue-noise ambient occlusion, physically based object lighting, working puddles, and nights you can actually see.

What this is
One archive, already configured
New Vegas Reloaded is a graphics extender that replaces the game's rendering pipeline through the script extender. It is not a texture pack and it is not ReShade — it changes how the game draws, not what it draws. This package contains version 4.4.0 exactly as the TES Reloaded team distribute it, plus a configuration file that has been tuned setting by setting against the shader source.

Before anyone asks
There is no ray tracing here
Because there is none to remove. NVR 4.4.0 ships no ray-traced or path-traced code path of any
kind: no RT shader in Shaders/NewVegasReloaded/, no RT section in the config schema,
and no RT symbol anywhere in NewVegasReloaded.dll. Nothing in this preset needs RT
hardware, an RTGI injector, or a ReShade add-on.
What it does run is classical real-time rendering, pushed hard:
Shadows
Cascaded shadow maps — 32-bit EVSM4, 2048 cascades — plus a depth-buffer screen-space contact shadow pass.
Ambient occlusion
A five-tap blue-noise hemisphere SSAO with an edge-aware denoise.
Lighting and surfaces
A Cook–Torrance/GGX specular term in the object and terrain shaders, parallax occlusion mapping, and ortho-map driven puddles and snow coverage.
Atmosphere
Analytic height and distance fog, and screen-space god rays.
That is a raster pipeline running hard, not a ray tracer.
Captures
The same three hours of one evening
Straight in-engine captures at 1920 × 1080 with the Ultra preset, the mod list on this site, and no external post-processing. The night shots are the point: version 1.1.0 exists because 1.0.0 crushed them to near-black.
Where to go
The guide
- 01 Prerequisites The game, xNVSE, Mod Organizer 2, the 4 GB patch, and the two INI lines the water shader needs.
- 02 Install Ten steps, in order, from the downloaded archive to the O menu opening in game.
- 03 Mod list All 39 mods running with it, in install order, each linked to its download page.
- 04 Load order The 48 plugins and which mod each one comes from.
- 05 The preset Ultra, Balanced and Purist compared line by line, and the five settings worth knowing.
- 06 Troubleshooting Fourteen symptoms with the cause and the exact setting that fixes each.
Honest expectations
This is heavy
NVR is expensive, and the Ultra preset is the expensive end of NVR. Before you judge the frame rate, work through WallSoGB's Fallout: New Vegas Performance Guide — in particular install DXVK, which is where most of the performance actually comes from on modern hardware. If Ultra is too much afterwards, Balanced keeps the grade and the atmosphere and gives back roughly a quarter to a third of the cost.
